Where electrical safety, field service and business operations meet.
From 2020 to 2021, I served as Director of Safety at Essential Electrical Services, LLC, a Magnolia-based electrical contractor operating across Greater Houston. The role extended across residential electrical service, backup generator installation and energization, field safety, scheduling, dispatch, project planning and customer-facing operations.
The company also performed commercial and municipal electrical services. My involvement bridged jobsite execution and the systems behind it: safety-program development, procurement, supplier relationships, field coordination, sales, digital service-platform visibility and implementation of field-service management software.
Following Winter Storm Uri in 2021, emergency power restoration and backup-generator work made electrical resilience a particularly meaningful part of the assignment. This chapter presents an operational contribution across many service calls and facilities, not a claim to have designed or independently installed every system shown.
Results beyond
the jobsite.
Field execution, customer conversion and operational development were interconnected parts of the assignment. The figures below come from my résumé and describe reported results, not independently audited company financials.
Career-record metrics / 2020–2021. Business-wide growth and margin are company results, not sales or profit personally retained.
Power in everyday
places.
Electrical service work spans the places people depend on: homes, schools, multifamily buildings and public-facing facilities. These five editorial images illustrate those types of assignments; no specific property or school is presented as a verified EES client.
Electrical work.
Operational ownership.
- 01
Electrical safety program
Established and implemented a company-wide safety framework for electrical field operations, including procedures, employee coordination and OSHA-aligned requirements.
- 02
Generator installation and restoration
Directed field coordination for backup generator installations, energization and post-storm emergency-power services, with attention to the interfaces between qualified electrical workers, homeowners and equipment.
- 03
Sales, dispatch and project delivery
Managed residential operations spanning incoming leads, estimates, closeout, scheduling, procurement, budgeting, supplier relationships and technician coordination; generated approximately $750K in reported electrical and backup-power sales.
- 04
Digital operating systems
Introduced Housecall Pro field-service workflows and supported the company's digital presence and lead development through website work and service platforms including HomeAdvisor and Angi.
The outcome is
reliable power.
A finished home at blue hour: subtle landscape lighting, comfortable interior spaces and a standby-power system poised to support resilience. The architecture takes the foreground, not the tools.
All five images are AI-generated illustrative reconstructions based on the kinds of electrical work described, not authenticated EES jobsite photographs. Truck graphics, equipment layouts, personnel, locations and manufacturer markings are illustrative; they do not represent verified clients or endorsements by EES, a school district or any equipment manufacturer.
Historical listings establish the Magnolia business and its service categories; performance metrics and my personal contributions are taken from my professional résumé.
The measure of service.
Is what keeps working.
From one electrical service call to a distributed field operation, reliability depends on good work, sound controls and the people coordinating both.
